We have worked hard to create the perfect silk for your skin and hair. Here are the reasons why we believe in Deepsilk.
Questions & Answers about Deepsilk
OPSUNDBAY Deepsilk is a premium silk that is enriched with sericin and has cosmetic properties. It is designed to maintain the moisture levels of your skin while you rest, aiding in achieving and maintaining healthy and beautiful skin.
Deepsilk is the result of a collaboration between a leading Japanese laboratory that specializes in amino acids extracted from silk, a biochemist based in Copenhagen, and one of the top luxury silk weavers in the world.
This collaboration of expertise and craftsmanship has resulted in a remarkable product that not only protects and amplifies your efforts to maintain healthy, beautiful skin but also redefines the concept of silk bedding.
OPSUNDBAY Deepsilk stands out from other silk products because it is specifically enriched with sericin silk protein - a potent hydrolytic amino acid that has anti-inflammatory properties and is developed to enhance the skin's moisture levels.
This unique silk is made of 6A Highest Grade Mulberry Silk in 25 momme silk, and it is free from unnatural dyes and silicone. This ensures that you have the softest, most sumptuous, and pure silk fabric that not only protects your skin but also amplifies your efforts to maintain healthy and beautiful skin.
OPSUNDBAY Deepsilk utilizes miceller technology to deliver sericin to the skin and hair. Micelles are tiny containers composed of hydrophilic and lipophilic layers, which are essentially layers of water and oil.
When these micelles come into contact with body heat and moisture, their hydrophilic layers are activated, and they begin to release their active ingredients. In other words, when you use a Deepsilk pillowcase, the micelles carrying the sericin will gradually release it onto your skin.
A laboratory test has demonstrated that Deepsilk™ has a higher moisture release than regular silk.
OPSUNDBAY Deepsilk is known for its softness even though it is free of plasticisers like silicones and other fabric softening additives. This is because of the high quality of silk used, which has a thickness of 25 momme and contains sericin. These characteristics result in a voluminous and exceptionally soft fabric.
They are two ways of referring to the same thing.
Silk and cotton are fundamentally different as they are animal and plant fibres, respectively. Cotton is valued for its ability to absorb water, making it a popular choice for towels and tea towels. On the other hand, silk has unique properties such as moisture resistance and the ability to repel house dust mites.
In the cultivation of silk, the main objective is to protect the silk larva in its chrysalis from external threats like rain and pests. This is why silk bedding is considered a natural temperature regulator, hypoallergenic, and prevents overheating.
Microscopic images show that silk thread is straight and has less friction that can cause skin irritation, unlike the twisted cotton thread.
Silk has been touted as an antibacterial fabric, but the truth is that no fabric that comes into contact with the skin can be considered completely antibacterial.
However, Deepsilk which contains sericin - an antibacterial substance that provides Deepsilk with greater resistance to bacteria compared to regular silk. Additionally, scientific studies have shown that silk is an unfavourable environment for house dust mites, who cannot nest in its fine threads.
Proper washing is essential to maintain the unique qualities and longevity of silk. Incorrect washing can cause it to become fluffy or damaged. To ensure its longevity, silk should be washed on a delicate silk cycle for no more than 30 minutes, at a temperature of 30 degrees, using only silk detergent. It should be washed separately, and preferably by hand, especially for pillowcases. After washing, it should be hung to dry immediately. For silk masks, hand washing is the only recommended method.
