Taking care of your Deepsilk

Taking care of your OPSUNDBAY Deepsilk™

Discover the best way to care for your Deepsilk and experience the full benefits with our expert tips.

To benefit from the amino acids in Deepsilk™, use it after cleansing your skin and applying any night serums or creams, so that you will get full benefit of your skin care products and the enriched silk while you rest.

Silk is a very strong and durable material when it is taken care of properly. Silk bedding made in OPSUNDBAY patented charmeuse weave can last up to 8-10 years if handled with care.

The best way to wash your silk bedding is on a short, cool wash under 30°C (86°F) on a silk/lingerie/wool cycle. Dust mites do not thrive in silk so no need for longer or hotter washes. Silk duvets can be aired or also washed on a low temperature.

Use a PH neutral liquid detergent without any bleaching agent, optical whitening effects or enzymes. In addition, do not use fabric softener. Do not wash with powder, shampoo or other soaps.

Immediately after washing, please take out the silk, fold it smoothly and hang it up. Silk dries quickly, so avoid the tumble dryer and iron on a low temperature while the silk is still damp.

Removing stains

Most stains can be removed easily if taken care of quickly. Treat spots and stains such as blood directly before washing your bedding in the machine. If the stain has dried in, it may be necessary to use a spot remover; if done carefully and sparingly, it will not ruin the silk.

If heavy accidents or spills occur, the silk should be soaked, preferably within a few hours. After this, the silk can be washed and rinsed clean immediately.

Important

The silk's smooth shine will gradually fade after some washes, especially in saturated colours, but the soft silk feel will remain. This is a completely natural process for silk but please be aware that this beautiful matte look is how silk ages after washing.
